Need some inspiration for dinner this week? Here are some of my favorite cookbooks, full of quick and easy options for dinner tonight!
I have somewhat of a cookbook problem. That is, if owning four shelves worth of cookbooks can be considered a “problem”. Secretly, I adore each and every one and I’m always on the hunt for more. This is especially true if it’s a quick and easy cookbook. It’s like I can’t help myself; as soon as I find a new one promising me flavorful recipes in half the time, then pop! Into the cart it goes!
I thought I would create a little list of my all-time favorite quick and easy cookbooks. These are all cookbooks I love and adore, and I hope you will, too! I’ll even let you n on my fave recipes from each so you can get a little more of a taste.
Got an awesome cookbook that didn’t make the list? Hit me up on Facebook and let me know your favorites! (more…)
It’s that time again – time for another Cookbook Giveaway! I am so, so excited about this month’s healthy slow cooker cookbook I can hardly stand it!
I received my giveaway copy of Clean Eating, Slow Cooking the other day and I am already in love! I’m sure you will be, too. There are so many good recipes in here! I’ll be digging in later this week and testing some out myself and I’ll let you guys know my thoughts over on Facebook.
Here’s what I can’t wait to make:
Tex-Mex Kale with Garlic
Balsamic Glazed Veggies Over Cous-Cous
Shrimp and Grits
Don’t those sound good? And there are so many more recipes! Each recipe in the ‘Clean Eating, Slow Cooker’ cookbook takes around 20 minutes to prepare. After that – you just set it and forget it, til dinner’s ready!
I freaking love slow cookers. They are a busy person’s best friend. And when the recipes are clean and healthy? Sign me right up, man.

Hey, whatcha planning on cooking this summer?
In between the beach reads, ice cream sandwiches, the glasses of sangria and maybe a hotdog toaster or two, I’m willing to bet you’ve got some time to get cooking in the kitchen. And dudes, have I got the PERFECT cookbook full of simple summer recipes to inspire you!
I joined forces with a handful of some of my favorite food bloggers and we put together this awesome summertime cookbook, just for readers of our sites! It’s 100% FREE (yup! FREE!) and chock full of easy, simple recipes to get you from Memorial Day to Labor Day in delicious style.
This simple summer recipe cookbook includes two of my favorite recipes from Percolate Kitchen, Cobb Salad with Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing (oh that dressing #swoon) and Roasted Baby Potato and Green Bean Salad. But in this book you can also nab recipes for Grapefruit Tequila Spritzers, Extra-Creamy Coleslaw, Summertime Kale Salad, Mango Sorbet, and FOUR of the best burger recipes I’ve seen in a long time.
Here are the other food bloggers and their sites featured in the cookbook:

Carla at CarlaCrudup.com
Seriously- this book belongs in your summertime repertoire.
And it’s FREE. Like, no cash exchanged. Just you, me, and those burgers.
Ok, well maybe I won’t be there, but you can invite me out to the pool later. And we’ll have grapefruit tequila spritzers and bond. It’ll be great.

If meal planning is the backbone of a well-run kitchen, then make-ahead freezer meals are the “muscles” that surround that backbone.
That analogy feels weird but I’m gonna go with it anyway.
Think about it: Part of the reason you feel like you never have time to cook is likely because of two things:
- You have nothing to eat in the house (“It’s all ingredients and no FOOD!”)
- You have about 15 minutes to get food on the table but in that time you also have to start a load of laundry, sign permission slips, respond to that work email, and break up a sibling fight. Standing at the counter and chopping ingredients is not something you have two available hands for.
That’s where freezer meals come in! You pull out a meal from the freezer (sometimes you don’t even have to defrost it first!) and boom- a hot dinner is on the table in around 30 minutes, often less, and you didn’t have to bust out a takeout menu to get it there.
That’s why I’ve fallen in love with this awesome book, “Not Your Mother’s Freezer and Make Ahead Meal Cookbook”, by Jessica Fisher of GoodCheapEats.com. Her site is fabulous for finding fast, simple, budget-friendly meals that families will love, and this cookbook continues on from her website. It even breaks it down with planning schedules so you can grocery shop and freezer cook the hell out of your monthly meal rotation.
I love that so many of the meals in this book are vegetarian, since I’m always on the lookout for tasty options that don’t include meat – we’re big meat eaters, so if I find a recipe that’s so good we don’t miss the meat, it’s a huge bonus in my eyes. I also love that many recipes are geared towards a full family flavor profile; not too many spices, simple instructions, and many recipes could easily be followed by kids, helping to get little ones in the kitchen. I mean seriously, check out these Chickpea and Tahini Patties, which are my favorite recipe so far (and my kids loved them!)
She also includes a host of handy tips, such as things to remember when you’re freezing meals, and tricks to help get your batch cooking done quickly, usually in a matter of hours. Because what good is batch freezer cooking if it takes you a whole dang day to get it done?
The best part? I have a FREE COPY to give away to one Percolate reader! Trust me guys, you will love this book. There are over 200 recipes inside! Plus so much actionable advice. Whether you’re new to freezer cooking or just looking to advance your repertoire, this book will be a new fave.
I’m running this giveaway with Rafflecopter, which gives you so many different ways to get extra chances to win! #whoohoo
