This list of naan pizza 6 ways is only a fraction of the ways I’ve dolled up our pizzas in the past.

Once upon a time, I worked in a restaurant kitchen that had a gorgeous brick pizza oven. I say this to let you know I’m no stranger to tossing dough and spooning sauce, but as easy as pizza is to make in from scratch, a naan pizza is even easier.

Naan bread is a leavened, oven-baked flatbread you usually see accompanying Indian food. It has a chewy crust that’s incredibly similar in texture to a good hand rolled pizza crust. Unlike “pizzas” made with egg muffins, or toast, or pita bread, this is a homemade pizza that tastes remarkably like the real thing.

I like to buy packages of naan bread at the grocery store and toss them in the freezer for super busy nights; they defrost quickly in the microwave or on the counter. You can then slather them with sauce and cheese, add leftovers as quick toppings, and pop them on a sheet pan in a hot oven for 10 minutes. Bingo: a quick, simple, and easy dinner! 

This pizza is also fun for kids! Kids love making their own version of a personal pan pizza, and with naan pizza, you don’t even have to worry about raw dough. Hand out the naan, spoon on the sauce, and let them go to town with toppings.
